      The reason fire is hot is because it is releasing a lot of energy!

      Rub the palms of your hands together really quickly for about 15 seconds. Do you feel the way the energy and force creates heat between your palms? This is why fire is hot… fire is a form of energy, and energy releases heat.

      Yes, it’s an exothermic reaction i.e. the material being burned is changing into a new material, and that’s releasing energy.
