      on average it’s:
      72 beats per minute
      4,320 per hour
      103,680 per day
      725,760 per week
      2,903,040 per month
      34,836,480 per year
      2,961,100,800 in a life time (85 years)

this means the heart pumps around 223,380,000 litres of blood in the averge life time (85 years).

It depends on your age and how fit you are.
Children’s hearts tend to beat a bit faster than adults.
Fat, unfit people tend to have faster resting heartbeats than slim, fit people. But when they do a bit of exercise, the heartrate goes up faster and higher for unfit people.

The average is something like 70 beats a minute. Athletes have much lower heart rates as their hearts are more efficient, and their rate can be in the 30s. Mine’s about 50 normally (boasting alert)! It obviously varies throughout the day as you sleep, walk, feel anxious, drink caffeine etc.
