This does happen, so another approach is attempted. Sometimes people are too sick to treat successfully. This is sad, but we cannot possibly hope to treat everyone as everyone is different and so is the way in which we react/cope with disease and treatments.

Treatments dont always work for everyone – thats why scientists work hard to find alternatives. I work with people who have epilepsy – 70% of them can take tablets that completely control their seizures, but that means that the tablets dont work for 30% – thats why we are working on other treatments to help them.

Well, when cures fail it’s very sad, and that’s why we all do the work we do. Being part of the work to improve things is definitely worthwhile, and it’s not a failure to not be able to immediately cure all of the world’s diseases!
