Most of my day is taken up with cutting tissues sections on a microtome (see pictures), but other days I’m in the Disection lab, cutting up specimens ready for processing. Other days I’m in the Special Techniques Lab teating tissues with different chemicals to see whats going on. Other days I’m supporting surgeons, freezing bit of a patient who is having major surgery; with this I also go up to wards to talk with surgeons who are taking small biopsies from a patients kidney, I make sure that they have the right area so I can get the result they need.
