The small intestine is a long and narrow tube about 7 meters (23 feet) long. The large intestine is so called because it is wide in diameter. However, it is shorter than the small intestine and only about 1.5 meters (5 feet) long. Some people’s intestines are longer than others – just like some peope are taller than others – anything from 17ft to 35ft is within the normal range.

About 22 feet. I do post mortems and if there’s a problem with the bowel it can take a long time to look at all of it!

In the body they are all curled up as you know and occupy about one third of the torso. Stretched out, quite a way..As Katie says about 22 meters, but that is totally flat, and also an average, otherwise about 1.5-2 meters
