I sent out my CV and a covering letter to many hospitals as there were no jobs. I was eventually called by my now boss, and asked to interview. I did, did well and have been here ever since, I have changed job titles a few times too, as I’ve become more and more qualified.

I’d been working for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) for years when they decided to shut down the Neuroscience department and make everyone redundant. Some very determined colleagues of mine decided to try and get money to set up there own company and work on the same projects that they have within GSK – fortunately they were successful and they asked me to join them as they knew I could do a lot of the work they wanted done.

I applied for it along with lots of others. There was an interview with 4 people in a panel. They asked me all about the work I was doing at another hospital and why I thought I would be good at this job. I guess I gave the best answers because they offered me the job.
