Oestrogen is considered to be the ‘female’ hormone, whereas testosterone is considered the ‘male’ hormone. However, both hormones are present in both sexes.

Yes. Oestrogen is produced in women in the same amount as testosterone is produced in men. Now they are both inn the same family of hormones, men produces the same amount of oestrogen as women produce testosterone. This is vital to healthy function. Also, testosterone is responsible for the thick hair growth on a mans face, which is why when women go though the menopause and stop producing oestrogen in such large amounts they can get a hairy face. This occurs in other conditions too, not just a good long life.

Man do have oestrogen in their bodies but the levels are much lower than in woman. The reverse is true of testosterone.
