The lowest level of Co2 car is an electric car, but any car that emits less than 100g/km is generally thought to be a ‘green’ car – ie one that is environmentally friendly.
In the sub-100g/km category, French cars are the best. The Citroen DS5 HDi Hybrid4 DSign has the fasted acceleration followed by the Peugeot 508 Hybrid4 saloon and Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4. Sadly all of them are much slower than petrol engines at the moment

Hybrids are probably the best way to go. Lexus has a lovely Hybrid sports car out at the moment, I was lucky enough to test drive one for a weekend a few weeks back. I really liked it and I was amazed at it’s fuel efficieny, handling and low emmissions.
