      Thats a tough question as it varies, I have my base salary and I also have research money, teaching and lecturing fees too.

      I work for the NHS – so not that much but more than average – top scientists who work in universities can earn about 80,000 pounds or more!!

      I earn the standard amount for a doctor at my stage of postgrad training. It’s a good wage, but living in London is still very expensive… I’ll not be staying here after a few years I think!
